Alan, our MD, co-founded the company in 1997 following a successful career as a General Manager in retail. His hands-on leadership experience in every aspect of running a business, from finance to facilities, gives him a unique insight into the challenges faced by SMEs. Alan holds an MSc in Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety Management from the University of Portsmouth. He is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and listed on the Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register (OSHCR). Outside of work, Alan is a keen golfer, a ukulele player and an enthusiastic reader of P.G. Wodehouse!
Director Janis joined the business three years ago with a rich background in both the NHS and the private sector. Her initial interest in health and safety was sparked during her time as an HR Manager, which led to further study and a PgC in Occupational Health and Safety Management from the University of Portsmouth. Now a Chartered Member of IOSH, Janis is especially passionate about training and communication, building strong client relationships and helping individuals engage with health and safety processes. Known for her organisation skills, she enjoys gardening, walking, Pilates and, of course, socialising in her free time.
James, our Compliance Officer, became part of the team after nine years as an RAF Aircraft Engineer. His background in such a safety-critical environment naturally led him towards a career in health and safety. James is especially interested in fire safety and holds impressive qualifications in fire risk assessment. When not working, he enjoys tennis, golf and exploring Norwich’s thriving food scene.
Financial Controller Yvette joined Foley and Baugh part-time in 2019. With an ACCA qualification earned alongside her work at Aviva and in private practice, it goes without saying that she brings a strong financial foundation to the business. Away from the office, Yvette enjoys time outdoors with her family, cheering on her son at football matches, and catching Norwich and Leicester games when she can…plus indulging in jigsaws and time with friends.
