Established in 1998, Foley and Baugh Limited provides a range of health and safety consultancy and training services to its clients in Great Yarmouth and across Norfolk, Suffolk and the whole of East Anglia.
The company has grown and evolved, working with businesses from a wide range of industry sectors, both public and private.
The Foley and Baugh Management System has been developed over a number of years, and has most recently been revised to incorporate those features which you would expect to find in a OHSAS 18001:2007 compliant system. Clients have found this system to be very helpful, particularly when undergoing 3rd party audits.

We undertake continuous professional development and have full insurance cover. We don’t offer advice on subjects in which we are not qualified or competent.

Alan Baugh
Managing Director
Prior to establishing the business in 1997, I was the General Manager of a retail department store with full Profit and Loss responsibility. Rather like operating your own firm, this leadership role involved me in the management of all elements of the business from personnel to publicity, finance to facilities, and from customer care to health and safety. This experience together with that I have gained working with the leaders of a range of small and medium sized businesses over the years has given me a great insight to those drivers that make for a successful organisation. I am now able to share my skills with our clients to assist them in achieving their goals and objectives.
I attained a MSc. in Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety Management from the University of Portsmouth and am a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and a member of the Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register (OSHCR)
On a personal note, I am married with two grown-up children. In my leisure time I am an enthusiastic golfer, enjoy playing the ukulele and enjoy nothing more than reading the works of PG Woodhouse.

Janis Baugh
Director
I joined the Company 3 years ago, having worked in the private sector and NHS for many years. I became interested in the world of health and safety whilst working as an HR Manager for a department store group; job changes, children, various training courses and a move to Norfolk increased my curiosity. I attained a PgC in Occupational Health and Safety Management from the University of Portsmouth and subsequently became a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH).
I love working with our clients – people and their behaviours are of huge interest to me and I therefore really enjoy the communication and training aspects of health and safety. It is so satisfying to help people become engaged with the process and to build relationships.
Friends, family and colleagues would probably describe me as organised (aka control freak) – I do like to get things done! Outside of work I spend time gardening, walking, doing Pilates (badly) and socialising (which I am very good at).

James Challis
Compliance Officer
I joined the company last year after spending 9 years as an Aircraft Engineer in the RAF. Given my previous experience, Health and Safety was paramount for the job role and led to my interest in pursuing a career in it. My main area of interest is in Fire Safety, having recently completed a Level 4 qualification in Fire Risk Assessment and continuing my studies for the Diploma, I have found human behaviour to be extremely interesting.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing Tennis and Golf mixed with a bordering-on obsession for trying new restaurants and the food scene in Norwich.

Yvette Hammonds
Financial Controller
I joined the Company part time in 2019, prior to this I gained my ACCA qualification studying part time at City College, Norwich, whilst working at Aviva Plc and later in a private practice.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time outside with our horse (unfortunately these days in a more of a groom/spectator role whilst my daughter rides), watching my son play football and going to odd games, when we can get tickets, to watch Norwich and Leicester, reading, doing jigsaws and socialising with friends and family.
